Walk Your Way to Health – Walking is a healthy enjoyable activity and an environmentally friendly means of transport, so step out and discover Donegal during Donegal Walking Week.
If you don’t wish to go to the gym or exercise classes, health walks are an ideal way to get fit. There are walks for families, fun, fitness, leisurely walkers or seasoned ramblers – whatever your interest, we’ll have the ideal walk for you. Take a challenging hike or a casual stroll for a breathtaking experience!!
The National Guidelines on Physical Activity for Ireland recommends that adults should be taking part in 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity on 5 days a week and children & young people should be active for 60 minutes every day of the week- so get out and put your best foot forward.
Health benefits of walking – Whether you want to walk to improve your general health, to keep fit, to control your weight, or perhaps to recover from a period of ill-health, walking can help. It is something that can be done with children or older family members and it does not have to cost you anything.
